People keep asking me how I've lost so many pounds. Yesterday that was kind of funny, someone told me "It is not possible, I bet you went under surgery ..." Nah! Actually I have reduced my chances of getting sick, feeling bad ... and increased my enjoyment of life! Wearing my old jeans again is just amazing! I feel like a winner!!
I wish I could understand why people tend to become saboteurs when they find out we are willing to change our eating habits? Well, I actually do not know why, but I learned to overcome them. Yeah, right! Imagine yourself in a soccer game, you're a striker and have your goal, you want to score, and the goal is on the other side of the huge field. You have to run from one extreme to another. You can not let the opponent take his ball control and in addition you race against a whole team coming in the opposite direction. Your goal is on your mind, but then you see the other team's players are many and you ... you are only one. Hence you have two choices: either you focus on your goal and continues to dominate the ball until you reach the large area or you just let them frighten you and then you lose your focus... then a few seconds later there is a player of another team taking the ball from you. ..
We need to keep the control! Hence, faster than we imagine, we are there in front of goal, achieving our goal! If someone comes with these comments: "Oh, why don't you have only a single candy, it will not make you get fat" have these thoughts on your mind: "I have a goal, and I already feel like a winner. I will say no politely because I know I will feel happy and proud of myself because I did not give up" After some time this becomes a habit, you will see.
The medical advices on Pre-diabetes and gastritis have helped me a lot. Every time someone offers me a sweets or fat food I remember the terrible afternoons taking medicines for stomachache or in the dizziness and of hypoglycemia due to the intake of sugars. It is easier to say NO when our health depends on our food choices.
Another important thing and think that we should not be angry towards the ones who offer us goodies. I always say, "Look, I can not eat candy, but that apple looks yummy, can I have it instead?" Of course, some people offer us candies as if they were playing the role of "serpent of paradise," but do not be angry... just relax and feel the delight of saying NO!
